Me to We
BackMe to We is a global social enterprise that empowers individuals to make a positive impact on the world. Founded on the belief that a better world is possible through collective action, Me to We offers a wide range of programs, products, and experiences aimed at creating positive social change. From volunteer trips and leadership training to sustainable development projects and ethical consumer goods, Me to We provides opportunities for people to engage with causes they care about and make meaningful contributions to communities in need around the globe. Through their innovative approach, Me to We inspires individuals to live a life of purpose and make a difference in the world.
My Role:
I've been volunteering with ME to WE since I was in Grade 7. My journey began with WE DAY, an annual stadium-sized youth empowerment event. Inspired by the like-minded youths I met there, I joined the ambassador program. Through this, I volunteered at various events, from handling coat check and ushering crowds at fundraisers and galas to leading leadership activities at schools and organizations, running pop-up booths, and creating presentations to educate others about WE's mission. In 2018, I had the life-changing opportunity to participate in a ME to WE service trip. For three weeks, I immersed myself in the Amazon, where I contributed to building a school and engaged with the local community. The experience left me deeply inspired, especially by the incredible women and girls I befriended. Upon returning home, I felt compelled to take action. I organized a fundraiser to support women's opportunities and education in India. The inaugural event brought together women from my own community in Vancouver and fellow students from my all-girls high school. Through engaging speakers and a showcase of items made by women's groups within WE communities, we raised $10,000. It was a powerful testament to the impact we can make when we come together with purpose and passion.
